Charity Volunteerism with 3W Races
Volunteer and get CA$H for your group!! We have many opportunities all year long for your group of 10 or more to come out to a fun race event, 'work' for 4-6 hours and earn UP TO $550 for your organization.
Things to know: - Your group does not have to be a 501(c)3 to qualify. - Participants in the group must be over 14 years of age (exceptions can be made, email us!) - Your group may be split into smaller groups of 3-6 people for the duration of a shift depending on needs determined by 3W Races. - Volunteers will be working outdoors doing tasks such as serving at a water station and giving drinks to runners, taking photographs, setting up canopy tents and tables, etc. - We may provide specific 3W Volunteer T-shirts to wear during the event, but also encourage each group to wear gear displaying their organization. -Other safety gear such as vests or gloves may be loaned to volunteers during the event. How much can be earned?
Your group can earn a maximum of $550 per event. The amounts available for donation to your group depends on the number of people your group sends.
Please note: Depending on the time of the event and when you contact us, sometimes we can't take certain sized groups. Email info@3wraces.com for any questions. GROUP SIZES: 3W Races will make a monetary donation to your organization based on the number of volunteers who COMPLETE a shift (usually 4-6 hours) on a race day. If your assigned "station" or shift ends before fours hours is completed, we will ask you to come back to the expo and help out! Compensation will be awarded as follows: 10-14 Volunteers: $150 Donation 15-19 Volunteers: $250 Donation 20-24 Volunteers: $350 Donation 25-30 Volunteers: $550 Donation How does it work?
1 - The group point person 'registers' for a volunteer shift at an event through the links above. During the registration process, the point person will identify the organization/group that will be 'paid' after the volunteer shift(s) are complete. Also, during registration, the point person will commit to a number of volunteers who will participate (ranges of numbers are listed on the page.)
2- A 3W Races staff member will contact the point person from your group to discuss any special requirements for your group and to serve as your personal contact for event day. Items of discussion may include expected head count for your group, previous volunteer/event experience, group transportation on race day, etc. All communication from the event (3W) will happen through the point person. 3- The point person for the group rallies the group and coordinates all the logistics on how to get the group to the race event on time. (Car pools, caravans, meeting time and location, etc.) 4- The point person ensures the minimum head count is met for the group. Paper waivers are signed for all members of the group. Participants aged 14-17 must have a waiver signed by a guardian. 5 - The point person checks in on race day with the 3W rep (usually via phone) and turns in all paper waivers. The 3W staff member gives the point person equipment for volunteers and explains assignments. If necessary, 3W assists in dropping off/picking up volunteers at their assigned stations. In many cases, these are water stations on a running course. In most cases, volunteers are welcome to drive to their exact water station and park their vehicle near the water stop. If assignment is less than fours hours, we ask that you return to the expo area and assist clean up to earn your full compensation. 6 - When the 'shift' is complete, the point person checks out with the 3W rep before departure and returns any borrowed gear. 7 - The 3W rep verifies the hours volunteered and the number of participants in the group. 3W then issues a check to the name and address of the group originally listed in the online registration completed by the point person. Checks will be mailed within two weeks of the completed volunteer shift. Questions?Want more info on the charity volunteer program? Email the team: info@3WRaces.com
