Thoughts on running?
"The rewards from running are endless; from boosting ones confidence in
themselves, to meeting new friends, seeing new places to becoming healthier."

A Few Race Goals:
Ragnar Relay (FL)
Sarasota Half-Marathon
Boulder Sprint Triathlon
IRONMAN 70.3 World- Championships

What do you think of the 3W motto- Do What You Can?
I am motivated by the "can" part of the saying, because the "can" is the part that pushes us toward goals.  The "can" isn't just about what you currently have access to do, but it is what you can set your eyes on and make happen with the resources you have or those you can strive to acquire.
Marley's Favorite Activities
"Besides running, I used to play ultimate frisbee competitively and now play more recreationally.  Additionally, I snowboard, play volleyball, and canoe/kayak/white water raft."

Susan Person

Why 3W Races?
-
I like 3W's message -
that running isn't just for elite athletes, but something that everyone can do
at a level that is right for them.  I also really appreciate
their goal of improving the community in which they live and work, by supporting local charities and hosting small neighborhood runs and other local events.

Susan's Race Goals:

 - To do another half
marathon - and really train for it this time!

Claire Sideri

Picture
2013 Race Goals
"run at least one race per month; a 25-minute 5k; a 2:05 half marathon; increase
my family's use of local and sustainable products; increase my community
involvement; I also have weight goals that include fitness and diet and are very
uninteresting:)"
The Running Community:
"I love running for a cause - it's one of the major factors in choosing a race. I figure if I'm going to run anyway I should do so for a reason. I enjoy running in my neighborhood where I can see my neighbors and get to know them a little. I am blessed with a healthy family who can afford some luxuries and feel that it is my
responsibility - and joy - to help others who are not as fortunate."

What does the 3W motto mean to you?
"It sounds more like 3W borrowed the idea from my day to day life than anything else. Everyday when I wake up I am doing everything I
can to improve mentally, physically, and spiritually for  my... community."

Ryan's awesome goal:
"Having lost 200lbs and gone from morbidly obese to healthy and fit - inspiring my patients, colleagues, and friends to become healthier naturally is my main  goal"

Favorite sporting activity:
Triathlon

How do you interpret 3W?
I'm not the fastest or greatest athlete there is, but I compete in every race  with what I have, my own personal determination. You can do anything you want
(what you can) with what you have -- you just sometimes have to be creative in  how you do it.
2013 Goals:
I'm going to PR in a sprint tri, complete an olympic Tri and also a 2 mile timed swim!
I'm [also] going to knit a  sweater and this pair of cabley-bobley mittens that I've been working on for at least the last year.

Rusty Gattis

Picture
Goals for the rest of year?
More consistent in living a healthy
lifestyle (eating and activity), weight loss (45lbs), run one race a month and
do some physical activity each day.

Why become a 3W Races Ambassador?
First of all, I love running races!  The idea that you start something and
there is a finishing line that is obtainable gives me such a wonderful feeling
of accomplishment.   3W races adds to the running experience by providing
wonderful support, a community experience, well-planned and scenic courses, free  stuff and I simply feel surround by wonderful people!

What does 3W look like to you?
"With small children, I make an effort to volunteer at
races, participate in local events and when possible involve my kids. My family comes first, and a strong family depends on a strong
community."
What are some of your goals?
"I want to take a step towards healthier eating by cooking at home more often and buying more food from the local farmers markets and co-ops."

Josh Bernhard

Picture
What are some goals for 2013?

I have done a lot of competitive racing in my past.  For 2013, I want to focus most of my racing on running for fun and meeting new residents here in Colorado who share in the same passion: running.

Why become a 3W Ambassador?
The people involved with 3W Races are incredible individuals.

What do you think of 3W?
"When I speak about 3W, I talk about how the organization works with every day people who want to run or run-walk-run.  I speak about the friendliness of the 3W running community and the comraderie of the run."
Kitty's Race Goals for 2013
Shamrock 1/2 Marathon Barking Dog Duathlon Thelma & Louise Marathon Denver Triathlon

Chris Bursian

Picture
Why be a 3W Races Ambassador?
"I love local events and would be passionate about
talking with others about locally "produced" races and an organization that does
everything it can to give back to the community where those races are held."
Chris' Race Goals?
"I want to get back in shape and to be able to run a 5K
in under 30 minutes again.  Also, I'd like to start building mileage so I can tackle another Marathon in 2014."

Sarah Hudnall

Picture
What do you think about running?
"I am a fairly new runner.  In fact, I hated to run until just over a year ago when I set a goal for myself to run a 5K.  I trained really hard and my
goals even evolved as I got better and better and now I enjoy getting out and  running.  I want to share this opportunity with others in my social group and beyond who might be like me and think that running is something that they might never be able (or want!) to do."
Race Goal:
To run a distance further than a 5k!

Stephanie Crosby

Picture
Talk a little bit about 3W Races:
"As an athlete and small business owner, my time is limited in relation to training. However, with proper time management, I'm getting runs in with my dog, riding in my basement, and swimming when I can. When something is important, you find a way to get the job done. Involvement with 3W allows me to train while feeding into a bigger picture. At the end of the day, it's about relationships, and I can't see a better way to cultivate that than by being a part of a team with the same vision."
Stephanie's Race Goals:
Complete an ultra marathon, and become more involved in the local racing community.

Karly Howard

Picture
What does the 3W Motto mean to you?
"I realized I don’t have to run the fastest pace marathon, I don’t need to be the most spectacular runner, I don’t need to be the most famous runner, I just want  running to be a fun passion of mine. I just need fit running in when I can, with what I have and I know running will always be a passion of mine."
Race Goal:
To run a sub 3 hour marathon

Joy Geltmacher

Picture
Why would you like to be a 3W Ambassador?
"I do like the small, local races the best and they are
the ones I enjoy volunteering at the most. Having the opportunity to get to
know local businesses and their products is great!"
Race Goals for 2013
"I have been averaging around 30 races a year between running, triathlons and open water swimming. I would like to try some new races in 2013. I like to try a new challenge each year."

Christine O'Gorman

Picture
What do you think of the 3W motto?
"I would interpret 3W to mean take everyday in stride. Be happy where you are in life and try to succeed at what you are doing, not just in racing but also in
life."
Christine's Race Goals:
"...to complete the Silver Rush 50 Mile. I'm slowly progressing my way to the
Leadville 100 (hopefully doing in 2014)."

Erin Anna

Picture
What are your favorite sports activities?
"I play Ice Hockey, I love to Mountain Bike, Ski, Run,
and hike.  Basically anything outdoors.  I may get back into some adventure racing this year too, as that's fun, and has a variety of disciplines which
makes it challenging."
How are you "Doing What You Can?
"I
like to inspire others and find motivation in others, and encouraging them to push themselves.  I have been working with quite a few people to help them lose weight and adopt a healthier lifestyle."

Nick Altmann

Picture
What does the 3W Motto mean to Nick?
"I think of helping an elderly woman lift up a heavy container of milk at Costco,
or going over to my brothers house to feed his cat while  him and his wife are on vacation.  The feeling of helping others and helping them
feel comfortable and safe is the ultimate feeling."
Nick's Race Goals for 2013
"My personal goals include starting physical therapy on my shoulder so that I can enjoy the full benefits of a Crossfit gym.  I would also like to run a full marathon..."
