What do you think of the 3W motto- Do What You Can? I am motivated by the "can" part of the saying, because the "can" is the part that pushes us toward goals. The "can" isn't just about what you currently have access to do, but it is what you can set your eyes on and make happen with the resources you have or those you can strive to acquire. Marley's Favorite Activities "Besides running, I used to play ultimate frisbee competitively and now play more recreationally. Additionally, I snowboard, play volleyball, and canoe/kayak/white water raft."
Susan Person
Why 3W Races? - I like 3W's message - that running isn't just for elite athletes, but something that everyone can do at a level that is right for them. I also really appreciate their goal of improving the community in which they live and work, by supporting local charities and hosting small neighborhood runs and other local events.
Susan's Race Goals: - To do another half marathon - and really train for it this time!
Claire Sideri
2013 Race Goals "run at least one race per month; a 25-minute 5k; a 2:05 half marathon; increase my family's use of local and sustainable products; increase my community involvement; I also have weight goals that include fitness and diet and are very uninteresting:)" The Running Community: "I love running for a cause - it's one of the major factors in choosing a race. I figure if I'm going to run anyway I should do so for a reason. I enjoy running in my neighborhood where I can see my neighbors and get to know them a little. I am blessed with a healthy family who can afford some luxuries and feel that it is my responsibility - and joy - to help others who are not as fortunate."
Brett Smith

What does the 3W motto mean to you? "It sounds more like 3W borrowed the idea from my day to day life than anything else. Everyday when I wake up I am doing everything I can to improve mentally, physically, and spiritually for my... community." Favorite sporting activity: Triathlon

How do you interpret 3W? I'm not the fastest or greatest athlete there is, but I compete in every race with what I have, my own personal determination. You can do anything you want (what you can) with what you have -- you just sometimes have to be creative in how you do it. 2013 Goals: I'm going to PR in a sprint tri, complete an olympic Tri and also a 2 mile timed swim! I'm [also] going to knit a sweater and this pair of cabley-bobley mittens that I've been working on for at least the last year.
Rusty Gattis
Goals for the rest of year? More consistent in living a healthy lifestyle (eating and activity), weight loss (45lbs), run one race a month and do some physical activity each day.

Sarah Hudnall
What do you think about running? "I am a fairly new runner. In fact, I hated to run until just over a year ago when I set a goal for myself to run a 5K. I trained really hard and my goals even evolved as I got better and better and now I enjoy getting out and running. I want to share this opportunity with others in my social group and beyond who might be like me and think that running is something that they might never be able (or want!) to do." Race Goal: To run a distance further than a 5k!
Stephanie Crosby
Talk a little bit about 3W Races: "As an athlete and small business owner, my time is limited in relation to training. However, with proper time management, I'm getting runs in with my dog, riding in my basement, and swimming when I can. When something is important, you find a way to get the job done. Involvement with 3W allows me to train while feeding into a bigger picture. At the end of the day, it's about relationships, and I can't see a better way to cultivate that than by being a part of a team with the same vision." Stephanie's Race Goals: Complete an ultra marathon, and become more involved in the local racing community.
Karly Howard
What does the 3W Motto mean to you? "I realized I don’t have to run the fastest pace marathon, I don’t need to be the most spectacular runner, I don’t need to be the most famous runner, I just want running to be a fun passion of mine. I just need fit running in when I can, with what I have and I know running will always be a passion of mine." Race Goal: To run a sub 3 hour marathon
